COMPUTING AND VIRTUALIZATION SPECIALIST (HYBRID LISBON)

Portuguese company hires for hybrid position

📍 Location: Lisbon, Portugal

⚠️ Only candidates already based in Portugal will be considered

💼 Work Model: Hybrid – approximately 60% remote / 40% on-site

🗣️ Language Requirements: Portuguese – Fluent (mandatory), English – B2+ (mandatory)

🕓 Seniority: Senior (5+ years)

🏭 Sector: Telco

🚀 Key Responsibilities

  • Design and evolve virtualization architectures
  • Define and implement Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity strategies
  • Validate and assess new hypervisors and technologies
  • Identify optimization and modernization opportunities in infrastructure
  • Support RFI/RFP processes and vendor selection/validation
  • Manage capacity planning for on-premise Cloud platforms
  • Contribute to software licensing and budgeting strategies

✅ Must-Have Skills

  • Strong knowledge of on-premise Cloud architecture
  • Experience in complex problem-solving and technical project oversight
  • Solid expertise in VMware vSphere architecture
  • Administration of Operating Systems: RHEL-based Linux, Ubuntu, Windows Server
  • Strong understanding of hardware systems (servers, storage, switching)
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking

⭐ Nice to Have

  • Experience with KVM and Kubernetes architectures
  • Scripting skills (Bash, Python)
  • Automation tools (Terraform, Ansible)
  • DevOps practices (Git, CI/CD pipelines)
  • Observability platforms (Prometheus, Grafana)
