PRODUCTION SUPPORT ENGINEER (HYBRID LISBON)

🚀 About the Opportunity

We are looking for a talented Production Support Engineer to join a highly dynamic and technology-driven environment within the banking sector.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, reliability, and continuous improvement of critical banking applications and infrastructure. You will work closely with Operations, Engineering, and Business teams, playing a key role in incident management, service requests, automation initiatives, and disaster recovery activities.

🎯 Main Responsibilities

• Handle application support activities, incidents, and service requests.
• Perform L1/L2 support activities within a banking environment.
• Contribute to service improvement initiatives and operational excellence.
• Participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) and Live Play exercises.
• Build, maintain, and optimize Ansible playbooks and Terraform scripts for provisioning, configuration, and deployment automation.
• Support and drive application containerization initiatives.
• Assist, mentor, and train Operations teams on Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes, and automation best practices.
• Manage infrastructure provisioning, configuration, deployment processes, and disaster recovery activities.
• Troubleshoot complex application and infrastructure issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure service availability, performance, and reliability.

🛠️ Technical Requirements

Mandatory Skills

• Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems and command-line environments.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure Automation tools such as:
• Ansible
• Terraform
• Experience with:
• Docker
• Kubernetes (K8s)
• Knowledge of PL/SQL.
• Experience using monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace.
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language:
• Python (preferred)
• Bash
• Understanding of CI/CD concepts and tools such as:
• Jenkins
• Travis CI
• Concourse
• Similar platforms
• Experience with Public Cloud environments:
• IBM Cloud
• AWS
• Azure

🎓 Qualifications & Experience

• Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT Operations and/or Software Engineering.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Cloud platforms (IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Ansible and Docker.
• Previous experience supporting banking applications or core banking environments is highly valued.
• Strong troubleshooting and incident management experience.
