We can consider candidates from any region of Portugal, provided they are available to travel to Porto sporadically, only when truly necessary.
To be more specific, when necessary, the travel will be approximately 1 to 2 days per month. However, we emphasize that trips will only take place if they are effectively justified.
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer with strong Databricks expertise to design, build, and scale modern data platforms in a high-impact Automotive Tech environment. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about data engineering best practices, cloud-native architectures, and transforming complex data into reliable, business-ready products.
You will work closely with Data Architects, Business Analysts, and stakeholders, contributing to end-to-end solutions that prioritize data quality, governance, scalability, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain data pipelines on Azure Databricks and Azure Synapse
- Develop reusable, high-performance data products across Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers
- Integrate structured and unstructured data from multiple sources (SAP, Salesforce, external systems)
- Ensure data quality, lineage, security, and governance compliance
- Optimize data processing for scalability, performance, and cost efficiency
- Translate business requirements into robust technical solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Automate workflows, testing, and deployments using CI/CD pipelines
Functional Skills
- Strong understanding of modern data architectures
- Ability to work cross-functionally with data, IT, and business teams
- Solid knowledge of data modeling and data lifecycle management
- Experience with Agile and DevOps delivery models
- Focus on standardization, documentation, and reusability of data components
Technical Skills
- Programming Languages & Frameworks: Python, PySpark, SQL
- Platforms: Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory
- Data Modeling: Data Vault, Dimensional Modeling, Entity-Relationship (ER)
- Automation & DevOps: CI/CD, Azure DevOps, Git, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
- Data Governance: Microsoft Purview, Databricks Unity Catalog, or similar metadata and lineage tools
Soft Skills
