FRONTEND ENGINEER (ON-SITE LISBON)

Portuguese company hires for on-site position

📍 Location: Lisbon, Portugal

⚠️ Only candidates already based in Portugal will be considered

💼 Work Model: 100% On-site

🗣️ Language Requirements: English (C1) / Portuguese (nice to have)

🕓 Seniority: Senior (5+ years)

💰 Rate Between €2,800-€3,900 on a permanent contract (not CTI) or between €2,100 and €2,700 on RV

An innovative technology company in the healthcare sector is looking for a Frontend Engineer to help build the core web experience of a next-generation healthcare platform.

This role focuses on transforming complex and fragmented healthcare data into intuitive, accessible, and human-centered digital experiences using modern frontend technologies and AI-assisted workflows.

You’ll join a highly collaborative, fast-moving engineering team where ownership, autonomy, and innovation are part of the culture from day one.

The environment is deeply AI-augmented, leveraging tools like Cursor, Copilot, Claude, and Codex to accelerate planning, prototyping, development, testing, and optimization.

🚀 What You’ll Do

  • Build responsive, scalable, and high-performing web applications
  • Create elegant and intuitive user interfaces with strong usability principles
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Backend teams
  • Transform Figma designs into production-ready frontend components
  • Develop reusable frontend components and scalable architecture solutions
  • Integrate frontend services with backend APIs
  • Use AI-assisted workflows for code generation, testing, documentation, and refactoring
  • Contribute to frontend architecture and technical decision-making
  • Maintain high standards for accessibility, testing, performance, and code quality
  • Support a fast-paced startup environment with a strong ownership mindset

✅ What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of frontend software development experience
  • Strong expertise in React.js, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript
  • Proven experience building responsive and production-grade web applications
  • Experience integrating and consuming REST APIs
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools
  • Strong debugging and performance optimization skills
  • Solid knowledge of Git/GitHub workflows and collaborative development
  • Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest and React Testing Library
  • Understanding of authentication and authorization standards like OAuth and JWT
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

⭐ Nice to Have

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Experience designing scalable frontend architectures in high-growth environments
