ORACLE DBA DATABASE (REMOTE PORTUGAL)

Portuguese company hires for remote position

📍 Location: Portugal

⚠️ Only candidates already based in Portugal will be considered

💼 Work Model: Remote within Portugal

💲Rate Between €2900 - 3200 RV or Sole proprietorship (gross value)

Join a healthcare project to manage and optimize critical Oracle database environments. You will help ensure availability, performance, security, and reliable recovery across production platforms.

Your responsibilities

  • Administer and support Oracle databases 11g, 12c, 19c or later, on-premises and/or in the cloud.
  • Monitor database health and optimize SQL/PLSQL performance using AWR, ASH, ADDM, statistics, and execution plans.
  • Manage RMAN backups, recovery strategies, restore testing, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Administer and troubleshoot Oracle RAC, ASM, and DataGuard, including switchover and failover.
  • Plan and execute data migrations and database upgrades.
  • Support developers with query optimization, manage database access, and maintain technical documentation.
  • Troubleshoot critical production incidents.

Main requirements

  • 5+ years of proven Oracle DBA experience.
  • Strong expertise in Performance & Tuning, RMAN, Oracle RAC, ASM, and DataGuard.
  • Solid SQL, PL/SQL, and data migration skills.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical, highly available environments.
  • Knowledge of Windows and Linux/Unix.
  • Experience with automation scripts using Shell, SQL*Plus, or similar tools.
  • English B2 and availability to work remotely from Portugal.

Ideal profile

An experienced DBA who takes ownership of database reliability, investigates performance issues thoroughly, and plans changes with recovery and service continuity in mind. You communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with development and operations teams.

  • Can you describe a performance issue you resolved using Oracle diagnostic tools?
  • What is your hands-on experience with RAC, ASM, DataGuard, and RMAN restore testing?
