JUNIOR DEVOPS ENGINEER (HYBRID PORTO)
Portuguese company hires for hybrid position
📍 Location: Porto, Portugal
⚠️ Only candidates already based in Portugal will be considered
💼 Work Model: Hybrid — 2 days per week in the office

About the Opportunity
We are looking for a Junior DevOps Engineer to support cloud platforms and production environments through monitoring, incident management, and operational improvements. You will develop your skills within a collaborative team, with mentorship and escalation support.
Responsibilities
- Monitor production systems and support daily platform operations.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents following established procedures.
- Participate in on-call rotations, with mentorship and escalation support.
- Maintain monitoring dashboards, alerting rules, and observability tools.
- Assist with service checks, deployments, and configuration updates.
- Document runbooks and known issues, contributing to reliability and operational improvements.
Requirements
- 1+ years of professional experience in IT, Systems Administration, DevOps, Operations, or Software Engineering.
- Relevant educational background or professional experience.
- Basic knowledge of Linux and command-line tools, including processes, logs, and networking fundamentals.
- Initial exposure to AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with Docker and monitoring/logging tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, and ELK Stack.
- Ability to read Java, Python, or scripting languages for troubleshooting.
- Understanding of deployment processes, incident management, escalation procedures, and service-level objectives.
- Familiarity with Agile, Scrum and/or Kanban, and an interest in cloud technologies and automation.
Preferred: Foundation or Associate-level certifications in AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or Linux.
Ideal Candidate Profile
A curious and proactive professional with an analytical mindset, good communication skills, and an organized approach to troubleshooting. Comfortable following operational procedures, working independently, and collaborating with the team when support is needed.
